Christmas Home Decor

It’s Thursday yet again and today I am bringing you a photo diary of sorts! Christmas is only 18 days away and I thought I would share how I decorated our apartment this year. We picked out our Christmas tree the Saturday after Thanksgiving, and it has been sparkling in a corner of our living room ever since 🙂

Still in need of decorations? Use this link to get 30% Target Christmas decor!

Up to 30% off Christmas trees, wreaths & garlands. Valid 12/3-12/9

Do you have a real tree or an artificial tree? We have chosen a real fir tree the last three years, and Jarrett jokes that it keeps getting bigger! Our apartment in Virginia has much higher ceilings than our place in Massachusetts, so yes, the tree has gotten bigger haha I think this year it is about 8 feet in the stand, with our angel tree topper!

How early do you put up your tree? I grew up with an artificial tree and it always went up the day after Thanksgiving. I used to love helping my mom put on the ornaments and laughing at the handmade crafts from our childhood. How they have lasted this long I will never know! Even though we now live away from home, my mom saves ornaments for us to put on the tree before Christmas and I can’t wait to see which ones I get to place in just a few short weeks!

Anyways, enough chit chat! I hope you enjoy the Christmas home decor inspiration below. I have included links to the holiday decor when available, just in case you still need to put the finishing touches on your home. I would love to see your decorations as well, so put a link to your blog in the comments below 🙂

Dining Area/Kitchen

I love decorating these Crate and Barrel bookcases in our dining area!

These were the cutest Target dollar spot find! Click on this picture to find other bottlebrush tree options 🙂

This adorable tree was found at T.J. Maxx/Home Goods.

This is one of my favorite holiday decor pieces! Jarrett and I had this made at the Big E a few years ago. It is a massaive state fair in Massachusetts and they had a bunch of local vendors. Love our little family!

Everyone needs a cookie jar and this can be left out all winter! It currently has gingerbread men from Trader Joes, but I’m sure those won’t last long.

Living Room

I only changed up the throw blanket and one pillow from our fall decor. I made Jarrett the green plaid fleece blanket for Christmas one year, and the red reindeer pillow was another TJ Maxx find!

Just a nice close up of the cutest snowflake candy dish I again found at the Target Dollar Spot. It came with a smaller one that is sitting on our dining room bookcases. Currently filled with Hershey’s peppermint bark bells 🙂

This little corner just has a fun gingerbread man and another candy dish, filled with caramels!

Our Christmas Tree

Our pretty tree during the day! The angel topper is from Target a few years ago, and the tree skirt was from Home Goods. Guess you can tell where I shop!
The cutest little sheep is an old family ornament. It doesn’t actually have a hook anymore, so I just rest it on the branches!
Our view at night! Stockings are again from, you guessed it, Target.
Had to have a donut ornament!

Miscellaneous Decor

I think this snowman was probably from HomeGoods too. The first year we had him, Axle, our cat, chewed off his bottom button!
Just some fun nutcrackers on the bookcase 🙂

The cutest Santa candy dish filled with the best cherry cordial kisses!
I could not resist buying these little gnomes/elves from Marshalls! They guard the Christmas tree and Axle thinks they are his friends haha

That’s a wrap! I am hoping to eventually get around to decorating our front door, but haven’t made it that far yet. Do you have any of these same decor items? Let me see how you decorate for the holidays!
