April Lifestyle Favorites

Hello, hello! I’m back today to chat about my favorites from April, including beauty, clothing, and food (as always). Sorry for the brief hiatus, by the way. Our laptop reached its final days and I was really unable to do anything on it. Opening the internet crashed the system, for goodness sakes! However, that little issue is now solved and I am typing this on a beautiful, new iMac! We have been considering getting a new computer for a while and just couldn’t bring ourselves to spend the money. But, this time around, we realized we needed something a little more dependable and *cue the heavens opening up* this bad boy, was on sale. 🙂 #winning

Alright, let’s jump into what you are really here for: my April favorites! As always, let me know if you have tried any of these products and if you loved them as well!

Check out my recent favorites posts here: March, February, January.

Foodie Favorites

I have kind of a random assortment of food products from this past month, but they are all great in their own way! Food is the way to my heart and grocery shopping is definitely a favorite pastime of mine… anyone else??

Nature’s Own Wheat + Protein Bread

wheatproteinbread

Kinda random to enjoy an everyday sandwich bread, but I am always looking to sneak extra protein into my diet and these have 8g per slice! Now, I have only eaten this bread toasted, but I think it tastes almost exactly like normal wheat bread. Jarrett, on the other hand, had it untoasted and said that there is a slightly different taste/texture. I smother it with pb and sliced banana anyways, sooo…. I didn’t taste anything unusual haha

Stubb’s Sweet Heat BBQ Sauce

Last week, I made pulled pork in the crockpot and topped my slider off with this BBQ sauce. I love spicy food, and this was the perfect combination of spicy and sweet! I didn’t use much on my pulled pork and the flavor was outstanding! If you are looking for a new BBQ sauce to try, I highly recommend this brand and flavor.

Homestead Creamery Strawberry Milk

I very rarely drink milk, but for some reason I had the biggest craving for a strawberry milkshake the last couple days! We were at Kroger the other day and I saw this flavored milk, on sale for $1.50. Score! Now, obviously this is not a milkshake, but it is INCREDIBLE! Never have I loved a milk before, but this one has my heart. Sorry, Jarrett. I also love that it is in a glass container, which we can return for a bottle deposit, and it is local! Saving the environment one strawberry milk at a time.

Beauty Items

Garnier Fructis Pure Clean Shampoo

I have decided to gradually make my way towards using products that are more natural and less chemical-based when it comes to items I put on my body. When I ran out of my previous shampoo, I grabbed this one from Target and really love it. It is silicone and paraben free, and is a vegan formula if that is something you are looking for. It smells delicious and suds up really well!

Philosophy Apricots & Cream

I have loved Philosophy for a while, but it is so darn expensive! If you are lucky, you can score a lot of their products at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx. The only downside is that you cannot smell them. But, I am here to tell you that this scent is a win! I ran out of body wash recently, and have been trying to use up products that I have in our bathroom closet instead of buying more. I’m pretty sure my sister gave this to me when she won more than her fair share at our family’s Christmas yankee swap… I may have begged for it, if I am going to be completely honest. This product is a shampoo, body wash, and bubble bath, all in one.

Miscellaneous

Universal Thread Collection at Target

IMG_5133

Target always sucks me in and we just live so darn close to one. It’s a dangerous drive home every day! Well, if you are one of the few people on this planet that have not been to Target recently, you better get in that car and drive there now. I promise this blog will be here when you get back.

Now, assuming you have been recently, have you checked out the Universal Thread clothing? Everything is just so cute and summery, and it was hard to not spend a ton of money. I purchased two tops and have heard great things about their jeans!

The Health Code Podcast

healthcode

You guys, I am obsessed with this podcast! It is produced by Sarah, of Sarah’s Day, an Australian health & fitness YouTuber that I have been watching for a while. The podcast is basically a mix of useful information regarding health, relationships, and career, and comical banter between herself and her boyfriend. I wish they produced more than one podcast a week because it just brightens my morning commute so much! I laugh out loud every episode. It is available on Spotify, so do yourselves a favor and give it a listen. If you have other podcast recommendations, I would love them!

That wraps up my favorites from April! Can you believe it is already May? Time is flying on by and we are staying mighty busy around here 🙂 Hope you have a great day!!
