Favorite Food, Fashion, and Beauty Finds from 2017

10 days into 2018 and I’m finally getting you guys my overall 2017 favorites. Better late than never, right? Since starting this blog in the fall, I have done a monthly post to re-cap my favorite items! This time around, I’m showing you my favorites from this year, along with a few things I have been using forever. Everything from food to beauty is fair game. If you still have gift cards left from the holidays, now is the time to use them! I’m featuring a bunch of items that can be purchased at Target, Amazon and Marshall’s/T.J. Maxx.

Let me know if you have some of the same favorites or if there are items I need to check out!

Coach Perfume: Poppy

Coach Poppy Eau De Parfum Spray for Women, 3.4 Ounce

I have been using this perfume for probably the last five years! To me, it is the perfect everyday scent. It’s not overwhelming and smells light, while also slightly floral and fruity. Plus, the packing is adorable.

Cetaphil Facial Cleanser and Lotion

Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser for All Skin Types, (pack of 2, 16oz)

Another product that I have used for a while. Cetaphil is so gentle and does not contain any dyes or chemicals that may irritate sensitive skin. Having clear skin is a huge priority for me, and something I have struggled with. I love how these items make my skin feel.

Clarisonic Mia

Clarisonic Mia 2, Sonic Facial Cleansing Brush System – 2 Speeds for Gentle and Everyday Cleansing, Sea Breeze

This was a birthday gift from my parents a few years ago, and I always ask for replacement heads when someone needs a gift idea. Any facial brush should be an investment because you are trusting that it will not damage your skin, so don’t shy away just because of the price tag. My skin has become noticeably softer and more even over the past couple years, and I think that is largely due to the frequent gentle exfoliation this brush provides.

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion, 1 fl. oz.

I discovered this product early in the fall and if you didn’t purchase it after seeing it in one of my previous “Favorites” posts, you need to now! All you need is a little drop of this formula, placed directly on your acne. It significantly speeds up the healing time and I think has helped to combat discoloration. I use this regularly and still have a lot of product left. I have also heard great things about the rest of the Mario Badescu line and can’t wait to try other skincare products.

Milk Cheek and Lip Tint

Milk Makeup Lip and Cheek Stick Rally – Mauve

I first received this product in the color “Perk” as part of a Birchbox subscription and loved it! When I ran out, it immediately made my Christmas list, this time in the color “Rally.” It is a beautiful dark rose and is very pigmented. Plus, having a cream blush just feels amazing to apply and I don’t feel like it is going to dry out my skin in these colder months.

Skinny Pop Popcorn Mini Cakes in Cinnamon & Sugar

I discovered these bad boys early-mid fall and they are now a staple in my pantry! A serving is a bunch of “mini cakes” and if you are like me, having more quantity is where its at when it comes to food. These are salty and sweet, and hit the spot any time of day. My one complaint about these, is that they tend to leave cinnamon in your teeth. I say the risk is worth it 😊

Cinnamon Bun Oreos

Oreo Cinnamon Bun Flavored Sandwich Cookies, 12.2 Ounce (2 PACK)

Let’s just move right along to another cinnamon-flavored item. These Oreos are incredible! Now, I can still appreciate the original flavor, but these give them a run for it. The vanilla cookie and the icing just melt in your mouth! How do you guys eat Oreos? I twist apart, eat the plain cookie first, and end with the icing cookie!

Trader Joes Sea Salt and Turbinado Sugar Dark Chocolate Almonds

Woah, okay that is a mouthful; but I promise you will want to eat a huge mouthful of these! I have loved these almonds for a while and they came back into my life and belly full force this year. If you like chocolate covered almonds, you haven’t lived until you have tried these. They are the main reason I go to a Trader Joes.

RxBar: Chocolate Sea Salt

RXBAR Whole Food Protein Bar, Chocolate Sea Salt, 1.83 Ounce (Pack of 12)

I discovered RxBars this year and Chocolate Sea Salt was the first flavor I tried. I have since tried apple cinnamon, peanut butter chocolate, blueberry, chocolate chip, and mint chocolate chip, but Chocolate Sea Salt takes the cake for me. It tastes like a dessert, but I love knowing that I am consuming only whole ingredients. It is the perfect on-the-go snack/treat!

Blush sweater from French Connection

I purchased this sweater from T.J. Maxx end of September and have been wearing it non-stop since! I am in love with the color (and when you see my bridesmaid dresses, you’ll notice a theme)! Plus, it is simple, but has just enough detailing to keep things interesting.

Summer Outfit: Maroon T-shirt and Joe’s Jeans Denim shorts

This was my most worn outfit of 2017, hands down. Virginia was warm as soon as we arrived in May and stayed warm through October. This was so comfy and I know will be on repeat again next season.

I plan on continuing these posts throughout 2018, so keep checking at the start of every month!
